38. Exterior Specifications – Cladding and/or Brick Layout

When building with brick it is much easier and economical to make sure that the wall lengths are roundly multiplied by the chosen brick length so that bricks only ever need to be cut exactly in half. Likewise, walls need to be a height roundly multiplied by a brick course. The layout shows how bricks should be laid and checks that the design is as efficient as possible.

Cladding layout is usually to ensure that it looks as aesthetically appealing and balanced as possible.
