10. BASIX Certificate

The BASIX certificate or Building Sustainability Index Certificate is a necessary environmental accreditation on the proposed design. It was implemented in 2004 and measures three key areas; water, energy and thermal comfort. All developments over $50,000 in value or any pools over 40,000L need to receive a score of 40, 40 and a Pass respectively. The outcomes of the assessment must be shown on the plans and incorporated into the design. To save you money and time this is outsourced to an energy consultant. As your new home designer in Newcastle and Northern Beaches, we will liaise and organise this for you as well as amend the drawings accordingly.
