57. Construction - Eco House - Construction Waste Management

Sometimes required by council, but always provided by The Rubix Collective, are instructions to the builder as to how to dispose of demolition and construction waste. Reuse is the primary preference when this does not compromise structural integrity or aesthetics. Recycling of tiles, concrete, plasterboard, timber and metal at specialist recycling depots is the next course of action for those materials that cannot be reused. Lastly, the remaining materials are sent to landfill. Because of reuse and recycling measures, this accounts for very little of the entire waste volume.

Did you know? 28% of all landfill is construction waste.
